This is a series of quick caricatures of Angelina Jolie. Some of them might not get her resemblance but I'm not after that .  I'm just after getting the features together and randomly exaggerating it.

Waking up early morning for a sketch gas become a habit of mine.  By the break of dawn I'm good with finished drawing(s) depending how serious the process is. There would be a morning that I would skip waking up but when I do two in a row I'm afraid I would have a hard time waking up on the third day. So I try to to it everyday.

#968 First Layer

A commissioned sketch I recently started. The costumer didn't mind of me posting this. This is just to show how I always start mapping my shadows and lights around. Initial drawing is important to get things right before going on to details and permanent marks. I have to adopt some of lights to articulate the shadows.

This is inspired from Ron Hicks' painting  "French Kiss". I just thought that it is an awesome work that I thought of doing a charcoal version. I like the painterly style that I adopted here- the composition, value, and edges. I thought I should look into doing more of these charcoal versions of the masters.
