Keith

Keith Richards in charcoal, 14x17 vellum bristol. In portraits, deciding where you want your viewers focus their attention is important. It gives order and harmony in your artwork. This is the same principle the artists apply in still life and landscape painting. In this artwork, I give emphasis of the focus in the eyes of the subject where I give so much contrast. Everything else is devalued.

Kirk

Quick caricature of Kirk Douglas in black and white charcoal in toned gray paper.

My latest bundle

I just thought of collecting these favorites from the series of works I've done. I think it's just more fun looking at them all together.

Abe 2

Another attempt on Abe Lincoln in sanguine, 9x12 brown paper.

Great Abe

Abraham Lincoln, the 16th US President in oil pastel. "...everything was done before Daniel (Day-Lewis, the actor who portrayed in the film "Lincoln") stepped on the set. And once he was in, nothing changed. We didn't rehearse -we just shot." --Camera Operator Mitch Dubin.
