Wahlberg

Mark Wahlberg. Crosshatch in graphite. I was thinking of wanting to watch his movie, "Lone Survivor". It's a true story of a navy seal who survived alone in an unsuccessful operation in Afghanistan.

Ed

Portrait in graphite on 8.5 x 11 inches on white paper. I applied straight cross-hatching in the entire process without the use of stumps or any material usually employed to blend or make smudges. It was tempting to use it as it makes the job easier, but it defeats my purpose on this artwork. I was trying to see how to temper various pressures on hatching to get the desired value on tone.
