Funny Borat

Graphite on paper. This is another inspiration from Dominic Philibert's version. I had a good time doing this because it's just outright funny. I did a little add on this one.

Hitchcock

Graphite on paper. This was inspired by Dominic Philbert version. Honestly, I could not have done it better than this if I would do my own version. I thought that copying them would allow me to study and emulate their style.

Head study of J. Collins'

Charcoal and white pastel on 9 x12 Mi-tientes. This was inspired from Jacob Collins' painting "Candace". It was a good practice because it didn't came out easy. Mi-tientes has a bigger bite compare to other paper I tried that I have to be careful pressing the Charcoal on it. Starting it light is always ideal. Totally blackening the paper to stress darkness is not good.

In his own style

Graphite on 5.5 x 8.5 paper. I was trying to capture the style of Dave Malan in this drawing--a fresh, clean, and crisp hatching with a clear articulation of lighting. This might look just okay, but Malan's is far superior than this.

Danny Trejo

Graphite on 5.5 x 8.5 ins. paper. Dominic Philibert is such an inspiring artist that he never cease to amaze me with his works. This one I copied from his website, a rough but a remarkable sketch that he did, that I decided to copy it and did a little modifiaction by rendering more on the facial expression. As the old clihe goes: the greatest compliment one can give is by emulation. Thanks BIG D!
