#977 Perlman, baby!

A WIP of my next project in pastel. Toned paper. 18x24".
This is the violin virtuoso Itzhak Perlman. For those who are not versed in the classical world, Mr. Perlman is one of the most notable figures whose musical influence resonates not only in the music stage of the western countries, but also in Europe, Asia, and Middle East. Along with his tons of classical recordings he does movie themes.  He did the original renditions of the Theme of the movie Scheindler's List, the Argentine tango played in a Pacino movie Scent of a Woman,  the Theme for Out of Africa, and the theme of Fiddler on the Roof.
He's my all time favorite violinist, and I'm proud to have seen him played in person in one of his concerts here in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Bowl. It was
magical.
